In 2025, Mary Ward International worked alongside partners, communities, and supporters to create just and sustainable change with women, children, and communities around the world.

Through the generosity of our supporters, Mary Ward International supported 61,133 people across 44 communities, funded 24 projects, and directed 97% of project funding towards advancing gender equity. This year, 92% of projects were led by women, reflecting our belief that strong women build strong communities.

Stories of Change From 2025

Across our global network, Mary Ward International supported programs that expand access to education, strengthen women’s livelihoods, and equip women and girls to speak up for their rights.

In Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, the Vinh Loc Learning Support Program helped children from migrant families access safe, welcoming classrooms, build confidence, and transition into formal schooling.

In Kibera, Kenya, the Street MBA program supported women to build practical business, financial, and vocational skills, opening new pathways to income, independence, and household stability.

In West Bengal, India, the Leadership Program for Survivors of Trafficking & Abuse provided counselling, legal guidance, advocacy, livelihood support, and leadership training, helping women rebuild confidence, reclaim agency, and support others in their communities.

These stories reflect the courage, leadership, and resilience of the communities we serve. They also reflect the generosity of the people who walk alongside us.

In Lukulu, Zambia, Sancta Maria College of Nursing and Midwifery celebrated its first cohort of graduates, preparing local nurses to bring essential care to their own communities.

In Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, the Vinh Loc Learning Support Program helped children from migrant families access a safe space to learn, build confidence, and develop foundational literacy and numeracy skills.

In Ostico, Timor-Leste, the new Loreto Community Centre became a place for learning, connection, and community development, while a clean water project helped support around 500 families.

In West Bengal, India, the Barefoot Lawyers project helped communities better understand their legal rights, access support, and respond to issues including worker exploitation, family violence, and human trafficking.

In Lukulu, Zambia, continued investment in education and health supported the Sancta Maria College of Nursing and Midwifery, health care access, baby milk, and school lunch programs.
