Many people ask for donations instead of sending flowers for a funeral or in memory of someone they love. If you wish to make a one-off in-memory donation, you can:
- Make a secure donation online.
- Phone (03) 8832 0434 during office hours with your credit card details.
A collection at a memorial or funeral
MWIA understands that the loss of a loved one is a challenging and difficult time. If you have lost a loved one and wish to set up a donation in memory, we can assist in organising this for you.
If you are arranging a funeral, you may ask the funeral director to provide you with MWIA in-memory donation envelopes. If they cannot help, please call (03) 8832 0434 during office hours to register your loved one’s memorial, or email email@example.com with the details. MWIA provides donation envelopes that will assist in making the donation process easier for your family and friends attending the service. These will be sent via post.
Once MWIA has received all the donations from the memorial, we will send all donors tax-deductible receipts for donations of $2 and over. We will also send the nominated family member an acknowledgment with the tallied amount donated in memory (for privacy reasons, we do not disclose individual donation amounts).
Donations instead of flowers
If you would like people to donate to MWIA instead of sending flowers, we suggest you make an announcement in the death notice. For example: ‘Donations in lieu of flowers to Mary Ward International Australia would be appreciated.’
