A Message from our Executive Officer

In this period of great uncertainty, we remain in close contact with our project partners, our Sisters and the communities we serve in the field. We are aware that the COVID-19 pandemic is being handled differently in each country and are comforted to hear that all those we are in contact with are taking the necessary precautions to protect themselves and their communities.
We too, are implementing suitable measures to ensure the safety of our team and community here in Australia. We have been acting on the guidelines of the Australian Government and the World Health Organisation, and as the situation continues to be volatile, we are now moving all supporter and staff meetings online.
Although we do not yet know the full impact the Coronavirus will have globally, we do know this: now is not the time to withdraw, it is the time to stay. While we adapt ourselves with our families and adjust our lifestyle to a new reality, let us be reminded of those around the globe who:
do not have the option to have “social distance”;
do not have the financial margin to provide care for the sick;
do not have a backup plan for caring for their children or the elderly;
do not know the reality of clean water and soap to wash hands;
do not have the benefit of regular updates and proper actions to take;
do not have the emotional or physical capacity to handle one more crisis…
As we continue to pray for our project partners in the field, please know that we are also thinking of each of you and your families. We are conscious that many of you within our community will be self-isolating for long periods of time and encourage you to stay connected.
